Withdrawals Policy

Purpose

This policy is designed to protect the interests of students in the event of this centre withdrawing a qualification; either voluntary or upon the instruction of Signature.

Reasons for voluntary withdrawal of qualifications:

• Insufficient demand for the qualification

• Insufficient number of student registrations

• Change in staffing circumstances

• Changes in requirements by Signature resulting in a qualification not being fit for purpose

Procedure

• The decision to withdraw a qualification will be made after discussion with Signature.

• This centre will take all reasonable steps to protect the interests of students in relation to a qualification it withdraws. Existing students will be able to complete a qualification for which they have registered or will be given a reasonable amount of notice to complete the qualification.

• Transition arrangements, along with a list of alternative qualification providers will be provided to students, of a qualification that is to be withdrawn.

• The centre will ensure that the procedures followed are in line with Signature and comply with the Ofqual General Conditions of Recognition.

Withdrawal of qualifications by Signature

In the event that Signature withdraws a qualification, this centre will follow the same procedure outlined above in order to protect the interests of its students.
